From p. 2:
The Chevy Chase Country Day School
is founded on the principle of interest and happiness in work.

It has from the beginning used the "progressive method," and is constantly developing new ways for maintaining interest and desire.

It varies the academic work with ample craft work, dramatics, rythmic expression, and out door sports.

By such a program it develops a balanced personality in the child.

Its program and its methods are flexible, allowing for the development of special talents.

It uses movable furniture and permits great freedom of bodily movement.

It holds classes in autumn and spring in the open air, on the spacious porches and grounds of the school.

It has self-government and puts the pupil as far as possible on his own responsibility.
