1911 Postcard of Chevy Chase College and Seminary, sent and signed by S. N. Barker. 3.25 by 4.75 inches, card stock, printed in brown. The front of the postcard featues a photograph of Chevy Chase College and Seminary on the front, with a credit line for "The Harwell-Evans Co., N.Y." Underneath the photograph, in script: "Chevy Chase College and Seminary, Washington, D.C." A postmark appears on the image of the school: "Peoria, Aug, 1 11-03 pm,1911" is barely legible. The back of the postcard: The one cent stamp is marked with a stamp and the date of 1911. A postmark appears above the handwritten address: Washington, July 31, 5 PM, D.C. The postcard is addressed to L.F. Bohe, 124 Randolph Hwy, Peoria, Ill. In the "correspondence" section, this handwritten message appears: Catalogue and literature sent per request. Letter will follow. S. N. Barker Mr. Barker was the founder and first principal of Chevy Chase College and Seminary. |
