Commissioned in 1942 one of the finest institutions of its kind. It functions as a medical, dental, diagnostic, educational, and research center, and its composed of the following Commands and Units: U.S. Naval Hospital; U.S. Naval Medical School; U.S. Naval Medical Research Instititute; U.S. Naval Dental School; U.S. Naval School of Hospital Administration; U.S. Navy Toxicology Unit; and the Armed Forces Radiobiology Research Institute."
