Description |
Insulator found at Chevy Chase Lake in 2001 INSULATOR: Recovered by Tom Hughes in 2001 using a metal detector on the southern bank of the now nonexistent Chevy Chase Lake near where a popular foot path extended around the periphery of the lake. This artifact is believed to be part of the original overhead electric light system that followed the foot path and illuminated the contours around the lake for the Chevy Chase Amusement Park. Note: The first lighting system was a series of candles on poles spaced along the foot path. |
